At Parkwood Project Management (PPM), we are dedicated to ensuring the facilities managed by The Parkwood Group remain best-in-class for the communities they serve. Our latest initiative focuses on a critical upgrade at the Breckland Leisure Centre in Thetford, managed by our partners at Parkwood Leisure on behalf of Breckland Council.

The centre’s wet-side changing village is a high-traffic, essential area. Over time, the existing male and female WC areas faced significant wear:

Worn-Out Flooring: The original vinyl flooring had deteriorated, impacting both the look and the overall hygiene of the area.
Drainage Needs: A robust, reliable floor drainage system was essential to properly manage water, prevent issues, and ensure the long-term durability of the facility.

Our objective was clear, and completed to succession: to replace the worn-out floor and implement a comprehensive drainage solution, creating a WC environment that is hygienic, compliant, and built to last for the community.

PPM successfully managed the full project lifecycle, from specification through to final installation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance were met at every stage.

The scope of work was comprehensive, guaranteeing a flawless result:

Full Removal: Safe and clean removal of the old, deteriorated vinyl was completed.
Advanced Drainage: We designed and installed a brand-new floor drainage system, including detailed flow calculations and precise slope specifications for effective water management.
Durable Flooring: A high-quality, slip-resistant, and durable floor material, specifically selected for the demands of a wet-side environment, was installed.

Upon completion of the project, the centre can now provide an enhanced, more hygienic, and durable facility for all users, and look forward to many years of enhanced performance.
